CPC & Bidding

Max CPC connects your acquisition cap to click-level bids. If you know max CPA and conversion rate, you know the highest CPC that can still break even — a practical sanity check before raising bids.

From CPA cap to CPC bid

Conversion rate bridges acquisition economics and auction bids. A $50 max CPA at 2% conversion rate means $1.00 break-even CPC. Higher conversion rate raises your affordable CPC; lower rate tightens it.

Max CPC = max CPA × conversion rate (as a decimal)

Frequently asked questions

What is max CPC?
Max CPC is the highest cost per click that can still break even given your max CPA and conversion rate.
Should I set manual CPC at max CPC?
Max CPC is a ceiling, not a target. Smart bidding may exceed it on some clicks if aggregate CPA stays profitable — but it is a useful planning number.
What if conversion rate is zero or unknown?
You cannot calculate break-even CPC without conversion data. Use a test budget, measure conversion rate, then set bids.
